A Call for Worldwide Days of Prayer and Fasting for The 2020 Vision Conference in Orlando and the Coronavirus Outbreak

The impact of coronavirus of 2019 is a fast evolving situation. What do not change is our called to trust God, to commit all things to prayer, and to act with courage in service.

Philippians 4:5-7 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

As part of the fellowship of churches attending the World Disciple Summit 2020 in Orlando, we will join the worldwide fellowship of churches to choose a DAY FOR PRAYER AND FASTING between March 1st and March 8th. This will likely mean that somewhere in the world - every day, every moment, for an entire week - thousands of disciples will be fasting and praying to our God!

Specifically, we would solicit your prayers for the following:

  1. Pray for your local congregation to remain healthy and unaffected by Coronavirus

  2. Pray for congregations already disrupted to receiving healing and strength from God, and for any spread of the illness to be eliminated entirely

  3. Pray for the subsidence of the Coronavirus threat - for containment, reduced spread of the virus, and for minimization of the disruption to the global economy due to this scare.

  4. Pray for the countries MOST affected by this issue - for China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, and others. For the disciples there to be strengthened and protected.

  5. Pray for the upcoming World Discipleship Summit in Orlando to be able to welcome a worldwide fellowship of disciples of Christ to be strengthened and mutually encouraged in our faith!

  6. Pray for all those traveling to Orlando to be able to obtain VISA entry, resources to come, and for travel restrictions to be lifted to prevent further disruption.

  7. Pray for our FAITH to remain ever rooted in Christ. For us to be reminded that we are intensely loved by God, to the point that every hair on our head has been counted! Pray against the forces of fear, anxiety, and worry!

  8. Pray for the hearts of mankind to turn to the Good News of eternal salvation offered to us all in Jesus Christ!
